Chinese Mahjong lessons and classes in Yangshuo, China

Mahjong is a game that originated in China and you will most likely see groups of Chinese people playing Mahjong beside the road, outside shops, in cafes and bars. It looks a little like dominoes but utilizes white tiles with Chinese characters and symbols. It is similar to the western card game of Rummy and is a game of strategy, calculation and chance. Usually each player begins by receiving thirteen tiles drawn from a set of 136. Tiles are laid down and players attempt to match other tiles with their own or block others by stacking tiles on top of others. It is a game of patience and is easily learnt. You can learn this fun game in a group or you can even play with local Chinese people if you don’t mind loosing. The classes are designed to be fun and we suggest you don’t play for money, well not at first 🙂
